Supervisor (Surrey to London)
Main Duties and Responsibilities- Ensure the safe, efficient, and professional delivery of services.
- Supervise work processes, equipment, materials, labor, and resources from start to completion, ensuring compliance with contract requirements and KPIs.
- Develop, manage, and maintain strong relationships with clients, customers, and employees.
- Oversee and coordinate scheduled and responsive works in accordance with specifications.
- Ensure all work meets contract requirements and industry standards.
- Identify, implement, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to achieve operational targets.
- Provide regular progress updates to the line manager and promptly report any issues affecting service delivery.
- Collaborate with management and supervisory teams to drive continuous service improvements.
- Understand financial and commercial targets, effectively managing resources to meet and exceed expectations.
- Lead recruitment, induction, supervision, and management of employees, ensuring resources are effectively utilized.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and address any issues in a timely manner, following company policies and procedures.
- Identify and support training and development needs for employees.
- Promote best practices in Health & Safety, operational systems, and equipment usage, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
- Foster a positive team culture by encouraging open communication and collaboration.
- Monitor and ensure daily inspection and reporting procedures for plant and vehicles are completed.
- Maintain full compliance with Health & Safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the grounds maintenance industry.
- Proficiency in IT applications.
- Minimum NVQ Level 2 (NVQ Level 3 desirable).
- Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Horticulture & Fine Turf (NVQ Level 3 desirable).
- Supervisory or management qualifications/training (desirable).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage workloads effectively, and prioritise tasks.
- Literate and numerate.
- Willingness to undertake further training.
- Full, clean UK driving license.
- Strong financial and commercial awareness.
