We are working with a Gloucester based school (GL18) is a vibrant and inclusive secondary school committed to providing high-quality education to students. Their aim is to create a supportive learning environment where all students can thrive. They are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and reliable Supply Teaching Assistant to join their dynamic team and support both students and teaching staff in the classroom until the of April.

Role Overview:As a Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers to support students with their learning. You will assist in delivering engaging lessons, help manage classroom behavior, and provide tailored support to students with varying educational needs. Your role will also involve providing one-on-one or small group support to students who require additional help, both inside and outside the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in the delivery of lessons and activities to support student learning.
  • Provide support to individual students or small groups, focusing on those who require additional help.
  • Help manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive and safe learning environment.
  • Support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and adapt materials as needed.
  • Help prepare resources and materials for lessons.
  • Foster positive relationships with students to encourage their academic and personal growth.
  • Assist with administrative tasks and record-keeping as required.
  • Promote the school’s values and culture in every aspect of your role.

Key Requirements:

  • A passion for working with young people and helping them achieve their potential.
  • Experience in a similar role within a secondary school or educational setting (desirable).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting students.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is preferred but not essential.
  • A clear DBS check will be required.
