**Shift Pattern** - Tuesday-Saturday. 39 hours per week
Tuesday 06.00am - 8.00pm, Wednesday-Saturday 6.00am -9.00pm.
Mornings/Days/Afternoons - rotating pattern

**Payrate** - National Living Wage

**Role Overview:**

Kenton Black are pleased to be working with a Science Lab who are seeking a dedicated Laboratory Technician to join their dynamic team in the East Midlands region.

This role is ideal for someone with a blend of computer proficiency, hands-on laboratory or production experience, and a keen eye for detail. The successful candidate will be capable of thriving in a high-throughput environment, where efficiency and precision are paramount.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Conduct routine and complex laboratory tests in your designated area of responsibility, ensuring accurate results.
- Utilise various types of laboratory equipment and computer systems for data entry and sample analysis.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) meticulously while handling specimens and operating equipment.
- Assist with inventory management and the ordering of laboratory supplies.
- Participate in the calibration and maintenance of laboratory instruments to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely processing of samples.
- Document all activities, results, and report findings to the supervising laboratory manager.
- Engage in continuous learning to keep up with the latest laboratory practices and technological advancements.

**Qualifications and Skills:**

- A degree in a scientific field, or equivalent experience is desirable but not essential.
- Previous experience working in a laboratory or production environment is desirable.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and software relevant to laboratory data management.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to deliver accurate results consistently.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-throughput setting.
- A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
