Due to expansion an interesting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance professional to join our client’s growing business as an Accounts Assistant. This is a busy, collaborative, fun, open and positive environment where you play a key role in helping support the next stage of their growth.

As the Accounts Assistant, you will be the type of person who enjoys providing financial support in a growing and stable business and is good at process improvement when it comes to find better ways to manage and oversee things. You will play a key role in implementing systems, be organised and really care about getting the best out of the business accounts whilst being supported by an external accountant.

As the Accounts Assistant, you will work as part of the senior leadership team supporting the business in all matters arising with finance you will prepare all information leading up to trial balance however mainly focussing on the day-to-day finance needs of the company. You will also be the type of person who doesn’t mind picking up the phone to incoming calls and enquiries and helping where needed.

If you enjoy autonomy, getting into the details but collaborating with like-minded business professionals and finding solutions to getting the best out of the accounting day-to-day activity and systems used, then this opportunity could be for you.

As the Accounts Assistant you will be:

  • Preparing payroll for permanent and subcontracting staff
  • Raising invoices and paying supplier invoices
  • Preparing Accounts & VAT Returns
  • Credit Control
  • Following up queries
  • Conducting bank reconciliation
  • Pulling reports to share with the Director

As the Accounts Assistant you will have:

  • Have experience working in a similar role in a varied and full-circle accounting role
  • Experience of using Xero
  • AAT qualified
  • Problem-solving with a curious and open approach
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent prioritisation skills
  • Good computer skills
  • Great organisation skills
