- Client Representation:Â Representing the clients in court for family law matters, including divorce, child custody, and domestic violence cases.
- Legal Advice:Â Providing comprehensive legal advice to clients on family law issues, ensuring they understand their rights and obligations.
- Case Management:Â Manage a caseload of family law cases, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Document Preparation:Â Drafting, reviewing and filing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, agreements, and orders.
- Negotiation and Mediation:Â Engaging in negotiation and mediation to resolve disputes amicably and avoid litigation where possible.
- Collaboration: Working closely with other professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and law enforcement, to support clients’ needs.
- Research:Â Conducting thorough legal research to support case strategies and stay updated on changes in family law.
- Client Communication:Â Maintaining regular communication with clients, keeping them informed about case progress and developments.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) and completion of the Legal Practice Course (LPC).
- Experience:Â Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in family law.
- Skills:Â Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Ability to handle sensitive and emotionally charged situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Licensing:Â Must be a licensed solicitor in good standing with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).
