NXTGEN are pleased to be working with a growing organisation based in Newmarket, looking for a dedicated Finance Assistant to join their Finance team. The Finance Assistant will play a key role in supporting the finance function by ensuring accuracy across financial processing, reporting, and credit control. The role of the Finance Assistant will be a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their skills in a fast paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Ledger: Verify and post sales invoices, ensuring compliance with client instructions and VAT regulations. Manage batching, reconciliation, and customer account records in Sage or Xero.
  • Credit Control: Assist with monitoring accounts, sending reminders for overdue payments, and managing the credit control inbox.
  • Purchase Ledger: Support accounts payable, preparing payments and ensuring correct documentation for DD accounts. Approve and post credit card expenses.
  • Cashbook: Maintain bank reconciliations and accurately post receipts and payments for multiple accounts.

For this role you will need to be studying towards your AAT, have experience of using Sage 200 and XERO, have excellent communication skills and you will need the ability to work in a strong team as well as being self-motivated.
