Job Opportunity for Blast Operative (Day Shift)
We are seeking a dedicated Blast Operative to join our client Warehouse team at Newmarket depot. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced warehouse environment and has a strong “can do” attitude.
Position Overview:
Position: Blast Operative
Location: Newmarket
Type: Temp-Perm opportunity, Full-Time ongoing
Working Pattern: 7 on, 7 off schedule (12-hour shifts, 06:00 – 18:00)
Pay Rate: £12.20 per hour plus £0.60 per hour shift premium, plus holiday accrual paid weekly
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating Counterbalance (CB) and/or Powered Pallet Trucks (PT) in compliance with licenses and company safety procedures
- Loading and unloading vehicles in frozen storage areas (-18°C)
- Manual handling of stock
- Completing paperwork accurately, such as load plans and pallet counts
- Ensuring drivers comply with dock procedures, including key handovers
- Maintaining compliance with company standards and procedures at all times
Requirement:
- Capable of working independently and maintaining high standards
- Strong numeracy skills
- Hardworking, reliable, and self-motivated
- Holds a valid Counterbalance and/or Reach Truck license with relevant experience
- Flexibility and overtime may be required based on business needs
