We are recruiting a team of PAs on behalf of our client, a university graduate based in Gloucestershire.He is looking for like-minded PAs to join his team and provide his personal care and independent living support. This is a great opportunity to really help make a difference to our client’s personal achievements.

Start Date: ASAP

Shift Pattern: Live-in 4 days on / 3 days off

Location: Gloucestershire (GL14)

Pay & Benefits

Rate of Pay: £180 per day (£140 on call rate)

Accommodation provided when on shift

5.6 weeks holiday pro rata.

About the Client

Our client is a young male, a recent graduate in English Literature and Modern History from the University of Cardiff. He has Cerebral Palsy and is a full-time wheelchair user. He is now back in his home town of Gloucestershire living with his Dad. He is a huge wrestling fan and on occasions attends live performances. He has an excellent sense of humour and enjoys going out to socialise and meet up with friends and family

In addition, our client is a Marvel movie fan, and particularly likes Ant-Man and the Wasp. Additionally, he has a passion for the link between history and literature and is currently aiming to eat less meat.

When not watching wrestling, or thinking about wrestling, our client is currently volunteering and looking to seek employment.

"I volunteer at The Folk of Gloucester most Saturdays and have starred in a play for them.

I’m beginning to realise I need to learn to drive, which I feel like in movies usually excites a teenager, imagining their newfound independence.

I did English Lit at Cardiff Uni. Got a masters cus Covid happened so I decided to stay on a year. Trying to read poetry more often. I should read more in general. I’ve never much liked reading and here I am with an English Masters, how the heck did that happen? Maybe you can help me figure that one out."

About the Job

You will provide daily care, personal care, preparing meals and supporting him in his everyday life. Care experience is not required as full training in our client's particular requirements will be provided. The job is a live-in position in the clients home where you will have your own room.

Duties will include

-Personal care - bathing, dressing, toileting,

-Work with the team to ensure information and issues arising during your shift are correctly reported and followed up;

-Social Support, help with getting around

-Maintain good order, appearance and behaviour.

-Housekeeping / Domestic duties including cooking

You will need:

-To be physically fit, calm, patient and caring

-Good organisational skills and the ability to work on your own initiative

-To have a good sense of humour

-A mature and responsible attitude

-Good communication skills

-To be fluent in English.

-To be clean and tidy in both your appearance and ways.

-To be a non-smoker

You will be fully trained prior to starting, so previous experience of this type of work is not required
