Freelance Site Engineer - Highways & Civils
Location: Newport Pagnell
Duration: 3 Months +
Rate: 300-400 per day CIS
Start Date: Asap
About the Role: We are looking for an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to join a highways and civils project in Newport Pagnell. The role requires strong setting out and quality control experience, working alongside the site team to ensure smooth project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setting out for highways, drainage, earthworks, and other civil works
- Conducting surveys and providing accurate site measurements
- Ensuring quality assurance and compliance with specifications
- Liaising with project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders
- Producing as-built drawings and maintaining accurate records
- Conducting site inspections and resolving technical issues
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer in highways and civil engineering projects
- Strong background in setting out using GPS, total stations, and other survey equipment
- Knowledge of quality control and construction standards
- CSCS card (essential)
- SMSTS or SSSTS (preferred but not essential)
- Own laptop and relevant software (AutoCAD, etc.) preferred
- Full UK driving license and own transport
