Key purpose of the role:

This role sits within the "buying team", which is focused on owning part of the online rewards range proposition and drive the development, delivery, and margin performance of the offering.

The role involves working with a global network of 70+ suppliers to ensure the best products and pricing are available, while also being creative in curating the overall offering.

Actively sourcing new product opportunities whilst developing a strong knowledge and understanding of the Rewards marketplace. To proactively build, develop and manage the Reward Merchandise and Voucher range, producing a best in class offering for the industry.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Compile, analyse and interpret data to assist with margin management and provide a commercially viable, appealing range of merchandise (and other products) at competitive prices.
  • Build, manage and maintain relationships with suppliers to include negotiation, service agreement and performance reviews to ensure excellent quality of service and adherence of SLAs and KPIs.
  • Work with the internal stakeholders to build compelling reward propositions and assist with all client requests for product proposals and pricing.
  • Work with Finance department to support with any invoicing queries
  • Lead operational implementation of new Reward supplier/offering from brief to launch, including assisting in the sales process where necessary.
  • Pro-actively suggest process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness of service and identify and implement Reward Product enhancement opportunities.
  • Accountability for driving the timely resolution of any reward/supplier issues.
  • Provide training to internal stakeholders with regards to selling and operating the rewards products.
  • Input into the technical development of the reward products and systems.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of external factors such as legislation, trademarks and taxation and implement any changes, amendments as required.
  • Source new suppliers to improve upon the existing range.
  • Actively seek pertinent information regarding competitor products, pricing and marketing strategies and tactics wherever possible.
  • Support profitability and redemption targets as set by the company.
  • Occasional unsocial hours with ad hoc overseas travel.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Extensive experience in an online retail, buying or range management role.
  • Experience of international product propositions, product range specification and negotiation in an online retail or B2B or drop shipping environment a bonus.
  • Works with minimal guidance and in partnership with other team members.
  • Comfortable to work in a multicultural department with global internal stakeholders and global suppliers
  • Ability to work and lead in cross functional teams
  • Strong supplier relationship management.
  • Previous experience of working with and using data and databases to present and support decision making processes and commercial business updates.
  • High level of commercial awareness.
  • Ability to influence with strong negotiation skills.
  • Good analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to converse with all levels of stakeholder.
  • Confident, positive, results driven, with a can-do attitude.
  • Self-starter and 'closer' of projects.
  • Troubleshooting and decision-making skills.
  • Multi-tasking skills with the ability to work in high-pressure, fast paced dynamic environment with changing priorities.
  • Excellent Word, PowerPoint & Excel skills
  • Excellent command of the English language (spoken as well as written). Other languages are a bonus but not essential
