Procurement Specialist Temporary to Permanent Full Time (Office Based) Near Newport Pagnell Car Driver £30,000 to £35,000 DOEMy innovative global client is looking for a Procurement Specialist to support the Sourcing Manager in identifying and appointing new Suppliers. Ensuring trading terms, prices and service levels are optimised. As the Procurement Specialist you will also assist the Planning team in scheduling, buying and expediting with critical suppliers. Experience is cost negotiation with Suppliers is crucial for this Procurement Specialist role Procurement Specialist Responsibilities

  • Assist in identifying and evaluating potential Suppliers to support business needs.
  • Support the onboarding and screening process of new suppliers, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Lead price negotiations with allocated suppliers to secure competitive and cost-effective agreements.
  • Collaborate with the development team to ensure supplier products meet product and technical requirements.
  • Contribute to cost development strategies, working closely with suppliers to drive cost reduction initiatives.
  • Manage and resolve supply chain escalations, ensuring timely and effective solutions to maintain operational continuity.
  • Partner with the Quality team to monitor and assess supplier quality standards, ensuring product quality meets the business s high expectations.
  • Manage the scheduling of critical suppliers where supplier lead time requires ongoing forecasting.
  • Support the Planning Manager with ad hoc data analysis to ensure that safety levels are reviewed and amended as required. and the P2P process overall is kept optimised.
  • Become a proficient, confident user of SAP.

Procurement Specialist Person Specification: This role would suit someone with a background in supply chain Management /sourcing and looking to develop further and more into strategic sourcing for a global manufacturing business.

  • At least 4 years experience in purchase order processing.
  • Experienced in sourcing of mechanical and electronic items.
  • Used to working closely with Suppliers in partnership style.
  • Degree or equivalent basic education
  • Ideally CIPS qualified or keen to pursue
