Recruit 121 are pleased to be working exclusively with an award winning growing business in Newport who have an opportunity for an on site Senior Management Accountant who is reportable to the CFO and manage the small finance team and fully supports the Finance Function in its end to end processes.

This role plays a critical part to ensuring the financial statements and financially controls of the business are handled with care and attention.

The role will be focused on the day to day running of Finance, as well as manging increasing demands to support the growth of the business.

A wide scope is covered in the role touching on all areas of Finance from Operational, Commercial and strategic all-encompassing the necessary financial needs for the business.

Financial Analysis and Reporting:

  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to support business decisions.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Monitor financial performance and provide variance analysis.
  • Capex Management - challenging what is needed and when to ensure the business has the right capital requirements
  • Stock management and working with the purchasing side of the business where required.
  • Cashflow management of the four main bank accounts and consolidated along with forecasted cashflow reporting
  • Day to day support to the 3 accounts team.
  • Payment run execution
  • HMRC reporting - including preparation of VAT and other government returns
  • Intercompany transactions for four entities
  • Full Audit preparation, liaising with auditors and other bodies
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting process for assigned business units.
  • Ensure alignment with overall corporate strategy and financial objectives.
  • Identify risks and opportunities and recommend actions to mitigate or capitalise on them.

Strategic Planning:

  • Support long-term strategic planning efforts by providing financial insights and scenario analysis.
  • Assist in the development of business cases for new initiatives and investments.

Financial Control and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and maintain robust financial controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Conduct regular financial reviews and audits.

Qualification and Skills

  • Degree in Finance/Accounting as well as qualified in a professional body i.e. ACCA or CIMA.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior finance role, preferably within a business partnering environment.
  • Proven track record of providing financial analysis and strategic support to business units.
  • Managerial experience of a team for a minimal of two years.
  • Experience of Accounting software, ideally Xero.
  • Highly competent in Microsoft excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in financial modelling and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, financial software).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
