Job Description: Contract Maintenance Engineer (Night Shift)

Location: Newport, Shropshire
Shift: Fixed Sunday and Monday nights (6 PM - 6 AM or 7 PM - 7 AM)
Rate: £27 per hour

Overview:
Our client is seeking a skilled Contract Maintenance Engineer to join their team in Newport, Shropshire. This is a fixed-night shift role, working Sunday and Monday nights, offering a competitive hourly rate.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all equipment and facilities through planned maintenance and prompt response to any issues that arise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks according to schedule.
  • Carry out reactive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment breakdowns promptly.
  • Conduct repairs, adjustments, and inspections to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Support production teams by ensuring equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
  • Keep detailed maintenance logs and documentation.
  • Collaborate with the wider maintenance team to ensure the facility remains fully operational.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently on a night shift schedule.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Relevant engineering qualifications or certifications.
