About the Role:

Our client is seeking a Wastewater Design Manager to oversee the delivery of a large wastewater programme of works within a UK water consultancy framework. Reporting to the Design Manager, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest technical standards. This is a customer-facing role, working closely with client leadership teams in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team delivering wastewater projects.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to technical excellence standards.
  • Foster close collaboration with client leadership teams.
  • Support bids, fee proposals, and offers of service.
  • Oversee the technical review of deliverables, calculations, and reports.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and methodologies.


What Our Client is Looking For:

Essential:

  • Chartered Status (CEng) with a recognised Professional Institution.
  • Strong knowledge of conventional and innovative wastewater treatment technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in engineering technical leadership.
  • Significant experience in feasibility and outline design solutions within the UK water sector.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to be based in the client office in Newport with travel across Wales.

Desirable:

  • Experience in building teams and mentoring junior staff.
  • Understanding of key wastewater treatment and sustainability challenges in the UK.
  • Knowledge of wastewater treatment investment drivers in England and Wales.
  • Excellent technical report writing skills.
