Location: Newport
Salary: £17.21 Per Hour
Hours: Monday to Friday starting between the hours of 04.00am and 06.00am

Here at The Recruitment Co we are currently recruiting a HGV Driver Class 1 or 2, unlimited HIAB and ALMI to work for a client of ours based in Newport.

Pay Rates are as follows :
£17.21 per hour and overtime of time and a third after 9.6hrs per day. £25 per night of night out allowance and £5 per day meal allowance. The right candidate will work on an average of 55 hours over the week.
Responsibilities

  • Operating a HIAB and ALMI on back of lorry.
  • Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that occur during transit.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, ensuring the safety of yourself and others on the road.
  • Tramping is also preferred.
  • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients and customers during deliveries.


Experience

  • Previous experience of delivering to a mix of building sites, builders merchants and private addresses using a lorry mounted crane with brick grab.
  • Delivering packs of paving, patio slabs, bricks etc.
  • Valid commercial driving licence (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for operating flatbed lorries.
  • Familiarity with route planning and navigation systems.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and safety protocols.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet delivery deadlines.
  • ADR License required
