From this continued success they are now looking to recruit a Business Support Manager (Collections and Recoveries) to allow them to continue their exciting growth plans.

As a Business Support Manager you will play a crucial role in building the infrastructure and approach to managing names in the Watch Book and Business Support lists. You will direct the management of higher value watchlist cases, focusing on minimising losses through strategic recovery and debt restructuring. The role requires you to engage in client-facing negotiations with legal professionals and other professional advisers, taking a hands-on approach to achieving positive outcomes.

Role responsibilities;

  • Advise and support customers in developing and implementing strategies to return to or maintain their contracts in performance status.
  • Identify situations and customers requiring resolution and initiate appropriate action.
  • Assess the credibility of customers recovery plans and monitor the performance of contracts against the recovery plans.
  • Identify customers who do not have a credible recovery strategy and move these contracts into Recoveries.
  • Liaise with appointed solicitors, insolvency practitioners and receivers to manage Propels debt. Liaise with other lender businesses work-out teams as required.
  • Escalate to Watch / Business Support Forum cases where there is risk, or potential risk of loss to Propel or our funders.
  • Lead Watch and Business Support customer relationships whilst demonstrating a range of recovery and restructuring techniques across the portfolio to reduce risks and align the portfolio to the risk appetite.
  • Maintain strong, positive, and open working relationships with internal key stakeholders.
  • Ensure all conduct and compliance requirements are adhered to and are at the heart of Propels approach.
  • Asset Finance / Banking / Accountancy environments

Key skills required;

  • Strong financial analysis and problem solving skills.
  • Commercial awareness with a proven record of success in asset finance
  • Significant experience in workout roles in SME asset finance
  • Strong awareness of the regulatory framework including Conduct and Compliance requirements
  • An understanding of the identification and treatment of vulnerable customers
  • An asset finance / banking background
