Role: Project Engineer

Location: Newport (Onsite position)

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 + benefits

Overview:
This position involves leading and managing capital investment projects to improve processes and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and budget requirements. The role covers the full project lifecycle, from design to implementation, while collaborating with various internal teams to support efficient operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, execute, and control capital (CAPEX) and operational (OPEX) investment projects.
  • Implement and improve plant processes and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) standards.
  • Develop and oversee the annual and longer term investment plan.
  • Collaborate with teams to coordinate plant outages and manage changes.
  • Solve technical issues independently and escalate complex challenges when necessary.
  • Drive productivity improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Required:
    • Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
    • Proven project engineering experience in manufacturing.
    • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in tools like Microsoft Office.
    • Familiarity with safe work systems (e.g., Permit to Work, Risk Assessments).
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Knowledge of SAP or similar systems.
    • Understanding of P&IDs, control systems, and instrumentation.
    • Experience creating and adhering to project plans.
