Are you a Senior Infrastructure Engineer looking for a new challenge?
We are looking for an Senior Infrastructure Engineer to come and join our Infrastructure Team, who will be responsible for the implementation, support, and maintenance of all existing and future infrastructure at a client site in Newport, South Wales.You will be responsible for alignment of all IT infrastructure aspects at the site in accordance with a unified approach. We are looking for a self-motivated and communicative person who thrives in a fast paced environment with constant change, delivering Infrastructure projects and working in a daily operations environment too. You will be joining a very experienced team, who work in an agile fashion, working together and tackling BAU and projects head on as a collective, whilst maintaining a relaxed and fun workplace.Reporting to the Infrastructure Team Lead, you will be responsible for seamless operations of the infrastructure spanning across two other client sites, as well as the home base of Newport.What you'll be doing:
- Managing any incidents, requests, changes and problems.
- Management of the server environment / estates.
- Maintenance and production of technical documentation to facilitate knowledge share and skills development.
- Proactively monitor the environments for issues.
- Server Availability Planning in line with requirements.
- Install and assemble any infrastructure hardware.
- Supporting remote customer sites working with multiple infrastructure teams.
- Follow standard project processes and procedures in order to produce documentation to be used in proposals.
- Evaluate hardware and software (within server, network, storage).
- Integration and testing of new infrastructure technology (both hardware and software).
- To be aware of the relevant SLA structure and to respond, fix or escalate according to the limits set out within that structure.
What you’ll bring:
- Knowledge of Wintel computer hardware & operating systems (Windows 2012, 2016, 2019).
- Virtualisation, VMware ESXi 7.x, including vSphere Compliance and right sizing.
- Windows DNS & DHCP, with a good understanding of both principles.
- TCP/IP troubleshooting skills.
- Active Directory, Group Policy and Scripting Knowledge.
- Windows Server patching using WSUS and SCCM.
It would be great if you had:
- Experience involving multiple Operating System vendors.
- Microsoft Certifications (MCP, MCITP, MCSE, MCSA, MCTS).
- Linux/Unix basic skills.
- Security Clearance.
