Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the entire commercial lifecycle of projects.
  • Provide commercial control over the assigned business unit or section.
  • Prepare, present, and action monthly cost reviews.
  • Lead the commercial team, fostering ongoing improvement and technical growth.
  • Identify and manage business unit risks, including regular project risk reviews.
  • Ensure timely, accurate CCS reporting.
  • Challenge assumptions to ensure clarity and accuracy.
  • Maximise commercial benefits when closing out projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers and the commercial team to maintain strong client relations throughout the project.
  • Develop and oversee project measurement and reporting.
  • Continuously improve business processes and practices.
  • Ensure projects are value-driven, on-time, and within budget.
  • Promote commercial discipline and improvement across the business.
  • Mentor and support the career development of the commercial team in your area.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Over 5 years experience in a commercial role with construction contractors.
  • Qualified in Quantity Surveying and ideally chartered or working towards same.
  • Experience working with electrical and mechanical scopes of work, as well as general construction.
  • Experience in a client-facing role with strong stakeholder management skills.
