Criminal Defence Solicitor / Legal Executive

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Criminal Defence Solicitor/Legal Executive to join our highly regarded, award winning Criminal Department.

We are a well-established firm of solicitors with a reputation of integrity, professionalism, and quality of service, providing services for more than 40 years in the South Wales area and further afield.

We are Lexcel accredited, recognise that our people are our greatest asset, and we strive continuously to invest in our staff and support their career progression.

The successful applicant would be expected to manage their own caseload, including some complex and sensitive matters, in a warm and confident manner and will be required to attend Police Stations and Magistrates court to represent clients. Support will be made available to the successful candidate to help build their caseload, with in-house training provided for matters such as use of our LEAP case management system and criminal billing.

Criminal Defence Solicitor/Legal Executive - Skills and Experience:
  • At least 3 years PQE in criminal law desirable.
  • Must hold Duty Solicitor status.
  • Must hold Police Station Accreditation or be willing to work towards achieving it.
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail
  • Ability to build strong client relationships and to be able to empathise with clients at all levels.
  • Self-motivated and commercially minded, with a drive to generate new work.
  • Motivation to learn and self-develop.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft packages and Case Management Systems
