Role Overview:


As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining the continuity of education when regular teachers are absent.

You will be responsible for supervising students during lessons, ensuring they stay on task, and providing a supportive environment for learning. You will ensure that students follow the teacher's instructions, complete tasks, and behave appropriately.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise students during lessons in the absence of their regular teacher.
  • Ensure students engage with assigned work and complete tasks to the best of their ability.
  • Manage student behaviour in line with school policies and expectations.
  • Support the teaching staff in maintaining an effective and productive classroom environment.
  • Provide feedback to teachers regarding student behaviour, progress, and completion of work.
  • Assist with the preparation and organization of classroom resources, as needed.
  • Help maintain a positive and respectful atmosphere in the school.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent classroom management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Patience, resilience, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • A passion for supporting students in their learning and development.
