If so, Academics are currently looking for someone to work as a Teaching assistant with a pupil who has additional learning needs in a large primary school in Newport. This SEN Teaching Assistant role starts after half term in February 2025.
Key responsibilities of a SEN Teaching Assistant
- Providing 1:1 support that is tailored to a KS1 pupil who has additional learning difficulties.
- Assist this pupil with classroom activities including reading and basic numeracy and literacy tasks
- Implement strategies to support the pupil inside and outside the classroom
- Build and maintain a positive relationship with the pupil, their parents and staff within the school.

Requirements for an ALN Teaching Assistant
- Experience working in an ALN setting
- Experience working 1:1 with ALN pupils
- An enhanced DBS (We can assist you with the process)
- Registration with the EWC (We can assist with the process)
- Two recent and professional references
