Our client based in Newport are looking for a New Product Introduction Engineer to join their Product Support team. This role involves engaging with multi-functional teams globally to develop service plans for new products. The ideal candidate will have an electrical background and have strong Project Management experience.
Day-to-day of the role:- Act as the Voice of Service throughout the Product Life Cycle (PLC) for new products by developing a service strategy that includes Cost of Service Modeling, Reliability Modeling, Retrofits, Intellectual Property protections, calibrations, and PM Optimizations.
- Build expertise in system operation, integration, and calibrations/diagnostics through hands-on learning from Tech Support Engineers and Design Engineers.
- Develop detailed Product Support Plans (PSP), Service Readiness Reviews (SRR), Design For Service (DFS), and Cost Of Service (COS) models in collaboration with engineering, marketing, finance, and service teams.
- Elevate product service education across the Product Support Organization using training classes, Augmented Reality (AR), individual coaching, documents, and other knowledge capture tools.
- Conduct spares obsolescence risk analysis and coordinate with the Spares Planning team to mitigate Service supply chain risks.
- Manage and support beta installs in-person by auditing procedures, updating documents, identifying training gaps, and solving unforeseen problems to drive continuous improvement.
- Minimum HNC in Electrical/Electrical Engineering/Mechatronics or a related discipline, with proven experience.
- Excellent technical writing and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in Basic Microsoft Software Packages.
- Strong presentation skills and comfort in front of various audiences.
- Experience with SPTS products, especially Plasma Etch, PVD, PECVD, or RE products, is highly desirable.
- An eagerness to learn new technologies, processes, and techniques.
