Senior Electrical EngineerSalary Range: £42,000 - £57,000Job Type: Full-timeLocation: NewportAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join a world-leading manufacturer that is at the forefront of innovation in the industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality documentation, managing design changes, and working closely with suppliers to meet customer facility requirements. This role is perfect for someone who is detail-oriented, has a strong understanding of electrical regulations, and can work effectively both independently and within a team.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Produce high-quality documentation packs, often to customer-specific templates.
  • Manage design changes based on customer requirements or changes to regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to manage customer facility requirements.
  • Up-revision of drawings for Change Orders where required.
  • Implement ‘copy exactly’ procedures and design changes for obsolescence.
  • Produce documentation for field labelling of systems.
  • Attend customer and supplier project meetings.
  • Support other departmental projects as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with fixed installation machines and 3-phase power distribution for 400/200v systems and control boxes.
  • Knowledge of safety systems complying with EN13849, EN60204, UL508 (for example).
  • Proficiency in completing detailed drawings for machine installation.
  • Ability to produce drawings with AutoCAD Electrical and willingness to learn a 3D CAD package such as SolidEdge.
  • Good understanding of worldwide electrical regulations and the ability to work with 3rd party regulators.
  • Confidence in working with customers and suppliers.
  • Ability to work to tight timelines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment, ideally complex manufacturing.
