A leading Utilities organisation in Wales are currently looking for a Cyber Security Analyst to come in and support the existing Cyber team with the day-to-day tasks involved with the running of the Cyber Security infrastructure for the organisation.

Your new role

You will be supporting the Cyber Resilience team with the day-to-day operational management of the cyber security function.

  • Provide support to current Cyber and SOC team.
  • Get involved with threat monitoring and response.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents.
  • SIEM and SOC processes

What you'll need to succeed

You will need to be able to influence and collaborate with other teams in the organisation, and have the ability to build strong internal relationships with other members in the business. You will have worked in similar roles and have a strong knowledge of Cyber and SOC processes.

  • Good experience in a Cyber Security/SOC Analyst role and good knowledge and demonstrable experience with SOC processes and procedures.
  • Some experience using SIEM tools such as Splunk, AlienVault, LogRhythm and/or Sentinel.
  • Strong work ethic and values such as punctuality and accountability.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
  • CompTIA Security+ would be advantageous, but experience and knowledge is more important.
