Financial Controller

We are seeking a Financial Controller to oversee our banking and finance operations. This role involves managing daily accounting tasks, maintaining cash flow, reconciling bank accounts, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will be proficient in handling the cash-flow and transactional running of a business, and will play a crucial role in payroll, year-end processes, and compliance activities.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manage daily accounting tasks including nominal ledger, sales ledger, and purchase ledger postings.
  • Maintain short-term cash flow and perform company credit card reconciliations.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations across multiple accounts.
  • Manage sales ledger, allocate receipts, and control credit.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations.
  • Input purchase invoices and conduct statement reconciliations.
  • Coordinate weekly supplier payment runs with the Operations Director.
  • Submit DEO, pensions, and PAYE payments and post relevant journals into Opera 3.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial management.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, specifically XERO
  • Ability to manage multiple currency transactions.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.
