About the role

A support role to the characterisation engineers, the primary objective of which is to maintain tools to maximize uptime and fit for purpose status. Perform specialised characterisation on tools not held as part of the suite available to production operators (with particular reference to oxidation, x-ray topography and atomic force microscopy). The nature of this role is dynamic with new techniques being investigated and an expectation to take on new responsibilities as they occur.

Key responsibilities;

  • To control the storage of calibration wafers and customer reference samples inside/outside of the cleanroom
  • Train in the use of characterisation tools and perform routine calibration measurements thereon
  • Maintenance of cleanroom items as specified by characterisation engineers.
  • Operation of the IR microscope for measurement of processed oxidized wafers on the NP site.
  • An A-Level/Equivalent or above in a Science discipline is desirable
  • Basic level of computer competency
  • Experience in a manufacturing industry is desirable.
  • Experience in a cleanroom/lab environment is desirable.
  • Data analysis experience is desirable
  • Awareness of handling requirements for delicate and hazardous materials
