Job Title: HSEQ Manager Location: Newport Salary: Between £35-£45k depending on experience

Hours: Full time. Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pmHere ar The Recruitment Co, we are recruiting a HSEQ Manager to work for a company based in Newport on a full time, permanent contract.Main Job role:

  • To undertake risk assessment (RA) of key processes and present the findings to the Health and Safety team
  • Assist in the implementation of actions and improvements that arise from RA.
  • Document HSEQ procedures to improve the company's H&S, quality and environmental impacts and activities.
  • Ensure compliance with external accreditation requirements (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, Ecovadis).
  • Conduct internal audits on the company's HSEQ systems, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and any future HSEQ framework.
  • Collate data from all sources, internal and external, to ensure objectives, targets and trends are supported by quantifiable, objective evidence.
  • Analyse incidents and data, calculate and conclude statistics for existing objectives and safety metrics and help broaden scope for continual improvement.
  • Research legislation, industry practices, codes of practice, lessons learnt, new ideas and developing technology.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities throughout the HSEQ frameworks.
  • Undertake investigations of accidents, near misses and identified hazards (close calls, as applicable).
  • Ensure any recommendations or corrective actions are forwarded to the appropriate manager and pursue closure.
  • Advise & support project teams on rail specific safety and industry standards
  • Conduct in-house training with management and employees regarding all health and safety issues and risks.
  • Maintain training records.
  • Assist with the company's ongoing sustainability journey and lead where necessary.
  • Be part of the stocktake team if requested (full stocktakes are undertaken up to 4 times per year).
  • Any other Operational task as reasonably requested by your manager.

Required Experience

  • HSEQ experience.
  • NEBOSH or IOSH qualifications.
  • Auditing qualifications.
  • Good mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Able to work as part of a team and lead where necessary.
  • Problem solver
  • Willing to work flexibly.
  • Adaptable to different situations.
  • Able to represent the company and/or the management team
  • Excellent communication skills.
