anzuk Education is currently looking for a full time Cover Supervisor to support in a mainstream secondary school in Newport.

This role is ongoing starting asap with the potential of being extended.

The Cover Supervisor role requirements:
As a Teaching Cover Supervisor/Cover teacher you will be supporting general cover and will be taking a variety of classes from key stage 3 - key stage 5. You will be responsible for classroom management but lesson plans will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and activities to students, maintaining continuity in their learning.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, promoting a respectful and inclusive atmosphere conducive to learning.
  • Provide support to students as needed, answering questions and offering assistance with tasks.
  • Liaise with teaching staff and department heads to ensure smooth delivery of lessons and continuity of learning.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in any discipline.
  • Previous experience working with young people in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to effectively manage classroom behaviour and engage students in learning activities.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work across different subject areas as required.
  • A positive and proactive attitude towards supporting the educational development of students.
