Quality, Health and Safety Manager – Newport

Salary: £45,000 P/A

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

Working hours: Mon – Fri – 8am-5pm

We are seeking an experienced Quality, Health and Safety Manager to join a manufacturing company based in Newport.

The Role:

The Quality, Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for compliance and delivery of quality and health and safety across the site. The successful candidate will have experience of a similar role in a manufacturing environment.  

Main Duties:

  • To lead and maintain compliance with all applicable Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines and legislation across the site
  • Responsible for the attainment and compliance of relevant Quality and Health and safety accreditations such as ISO 9001 etc.
  • Completing and documenting internal risk assessments
  • To be responsible for accident and incident investigations and causes
  • Carry out internal Health and Safety and Quality internal audits and action any identified outstanding points
  • Responsible for maintaining and delivering the companies Quality Management system
  • Understanding customer specific needs and requirements to develop effective quality control in the manufacturing processes
  • Liaise with customers on any quality related issues
  • Liaise with external service providers on quality related issues such as suppliers, contractors etc.
  • Produce and monitor effectiveness of internal quality documentation
  • To provide training and guidance to colleagues in order to achieve the objectives set out by the Quality, Health and Safety manager
  • To identify and implement continuous improvement opportunitues to improve efficiency and introduce new policies and procedures where required
  • To integrate within a small team and drive for continuous improvement whilst maintaining a proactive and productive ethos

About You:

  • 3 years minimum experience in a Quality and Health and Safety Role
  • 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Up to date knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001 standard
  • Knowledge of the ISO 14001 standard is desirable
  • NEBOSH qualified
  • Familiarity with COSHH and hazardous material control
  • Experience of being customer facing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Consciencious and a keen eye for detail
