We are looking to take on an experienced Teaching Assistant to begin work from September 2024. The successful Teaching Assistant will have the opportunity to work in a modern and ambitious Secondary School in Newport, with staff who are committed to ensuring the progression and success of their students, and in a learning environment that promotes high-quality learning, independence, respect, and ownership.
As a Teaching assistant, you will work alongside the Class Teacher to ensure high standards of teaching, supporting students 1-2-1 with general school tasks, including Literacy Interventions, and helping the students develop and improve the skills and talents they need to flourish and to make a positive contribution to society.
Our successful Teaching Assistant will:
- Have Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification and/or at least 6 months classroom experience
- Have ALN experience and/or 1-2-1 experience
- Have good behavioural management skills/experience with challenging behaviours
- Have experience in assisting with and promoting Independent Living Skills
