We are seeking a Disaster Recovery Manager to take charge of our IT Disaster Recovery Framework (ITDR). This role involves developing strategies, policies, and plans to ensure business continuity and resilience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery processes, with the ability to manage Disaster Recovery exercises and maintain critical IT asset lists.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Manage and maintain the IT Disaster Recovery Framework, ensuring alignment with business needs.
  • Review outcomes of Business Impact Analysis and align the Disaster Recovery framework, strategy, and plans accordingly.
  • Plan, set up, roll out, test, and maintain IT Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery policies and plans.
  • Develop and maintain a failure scenario document as part of the ITDR framework.
  • Create effective strategies to respond to IT and operational service disruptions.
  • Schedule and lead all Disaster Recovery exercises, maintaining the integrity of procedures.
  • Consult with owners and support teams to define, develop, coordinate, and manage disaster recovery plans.
  • Collaborate with the Business Continuity Management Governance Group and stakeholders to test core IT systems and services.
  • Prepare and communicate ITDR KPIs and identify business continuity risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with IT colleagues, business stakeholders, and suppliers.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience with Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery processes and standards.
  • Working knowledge of ISO22301.
  • Expertise in Disaster Recovery planning and execution.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop effective relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating technical elements to business representatives.
  • Proven complex problem-solving abilities and experience in making recommendations.
  • Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security, or equivalent.
Desirable:
  • Experience in a large and complex Utilities organisation.
  • Membership/Certification of a body such as the Business Continuity Institute (BCI) or Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRII).
