Location: Newport

Salary: Up to £38,000 per annum dependant on experiences

Hours: Mon-Thur 08:00 - 16:45 Fri 08:00-12.00

Here at The Recruitment co, we are recruiting a Quality Manager to work for a business in Newport.

Main Responsibilities:

  • ISO 9001:2015 QMS compliance and maintenance
  • Compliance and maintenance of regulatory standards P.E.D. (2014/68/EU), PE(s)R, ATEX
  • Prompt and accurate processing of corrective actions raised from certification and regulatory body non-conformities (external audits)
  • Ensuring product traceability as prescribed by the above QMS and product regulatory standards
  • Liaising with process owners to ensure prompt processing of Quality Event reports for internal & supplier non-conformities and customer complaints
  • Liaising with process owners to ensure prompt and accurate processing of corrective and improvement actions from Quality Event reports
  • Support and liaison for customer and regulatory body audits
  • Maintenance of internal and external audit plan
  • Planning and execution of internal and supplier audits
  • Prompt and accurate processing of corrective and improvement actions from internal and supplier audits
  • Incoming parts and material are inspected in line with company QC requirements
  • Despatched product inspected in line with company final inspection QC requirements
  • Customer contract documentation (S.D.R.L.) processed in line with customer contractual requirements
  • Liaison and support for Third Party Inspection product and contract inspection visits to the company
  • Demonstrating a hands-on approach to technical aspects of QMS
  • Coaching and encouraging colleagues in the philosophy of continuous improvement with recognised tools and techniques
  • Managing and motivating staff against recognised, agreed, roles and responsibilities
  • Deploy and promote a culture of lost cost and waste management to ensure business improvement is prioritised
  • Maintenance of company calibration records and to ensure all equipment at point of use is calibrated as needed
  • Provide monthly report to leadership team for KPI results
  • Provide quarterly report to leadership team for KPI, NCR Summary (including lost cost), Status of Objectives, Status of Internal and External audit results and actions
  • Provide annual summary report to leadership team for KPI, Audits, Objectives
  • Issue management review minutes and action plan

Specific Knowledge / Skills Competence:

  • Understanding of ISO 9001:2015 maintenance
  • Understanding of quality improvement tools and techniques
  • Understanding of change management
  • Customer Relationship Management
  • Reading and understanding of technical drawings is essential
  • Reading and understanding of contract and technical specifications.
  • Methodical
  • Work to deadlines
  • Attention to detail
  • IT skills
  • Previous Quality experience is essential

Specific Qualifications:
Qualified to technical HND/HNC level or equivalent is desirable but not essential if previous work experience can demonstrate a proven track record and ability within a quality biased manufacturing environment.
Ideally qualified to minimum certificate level quality assurance (Charted Quality Institute or BSI) or NVQ business improvement techniques level 2 or 3.
