Belcan Workforce Solutions are seeking 3 Senior Scientists on a 12-month contract to join our client's Cyber Defence team in Newport.

The roles are Inside of IR35 and paying up to £45.00 per hour Umbrella. The roles are hybrid opportunities.

We are looking for Scientists with the following focus areas:

  • Cyber AI / ML Research
  • Industrial Control System Cyber Security Research
  • Human Centric Security Research

General Job Description:

We are seeking highly motivated and experienced Senior Scientists to join our Cyber Security Research team. The successful candidates will undertake cutting-edge digital security research and innovation activities, aiming to develop solutions to complex business problems. This role involves coordination, collaboration, consultancy, and innovation within the cyber security domain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate cyber security innovation across the business.
  • Collaborate with internal peers and external partners on cyber security projects.
  • Provide consultancy services on cyber security innovation.
  • Deliver innovation projects, reports, and presentations.
  • Build and maintain a research network and support the development of a Cyber Innovation Roadmap.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Communications & Networking, Cyber Security, or a related field.
  • Recent PhD or Master's degree relevant to ICS Cyber Security.
  • Proven experience in industrial control security and research/innovation.

Preferred Skills:

  • Professional training/certifications in Cyber Security.
  • Experience managing digital security projects.
  • Knowledge of network security, cloud security, and programming (Python).
  • Familiarity with configuring network firewalls, IDS, IPS, and honeypots.
  • Understanding of network cyber attacks and their mitigation.
