Senior Stores Person required in Newport, Shropshire!!
We are looking for a Senior Stores Person to join a long standing and well established food manufacturer in Newport, Shropshire, this role will be working day shifts Monday to Friday, and comes with an attractive salary up to £40,000 per annum.
This is an exciting opportunity for the right individual to take ownership of the Engineering stores area, the company are in the process of implementing a new CMMS system, rolling out 5’s standards across the department and introducing a new planned maintenance team on site along with significant investment in site machinery and equipment.
This role would involve leading a team within the Stores department, as well as carrying out Continuous Improvement work.
This job would be a good fit for someone who has previous experience as a Stores Supervisor, Senior Stores man, Lead Stores Person, Continuous Improvement Coordinator or Engineering Stores Manager who has an eye for Continuous Improvement and can look at ways of improving processes within a logistics function.
Previous experience within the Food Manufacturing industry would be preferred, but is not essential.
What You Will Do:
- Implement and coordinate best practice inventory management systems to ensure optimal stock levels and cost-effectiveness.
- Manage spare parts and refurbishments, ensuring compliance with COSHH and supporting systems.
- Utilize the CMMS system for tracking stores performance, including stock accuracy and turnover, as well as managing engineering materials and spares.
- Drive continuous improvement by developing inventory management techniques and optimizing spares holding through criticality analysis.
- Take ownership of the engineering stores' 5S, ensuring a high standard of visual management and safety.
- Collaborate closely with the engineering team to support maintenance schedules and projects, ensuring the timely availability of parts.
