General Manager

Great opportunity for a Logistics General Manager to manage the Newport site of a well-established business within the transport sector

The successful candidate will be responsible for a sizeable team along with operational and financial performance across warehousing and transport.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial management of the operation
  • Effectively lead the distribution operation to provide a reliable and punctual service and high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Responsible for correct staffing levels to maintain service and productivity.
  • Drive efficiency through continuous improvement and KPI management.
  • Lead, engage and coach a sizeable team.
  • Set strategy, drive innovation and lead change.
  • Engage with key customers to improve service and support future business growth.

Key Skills/Experience:

  • Previous senior management experience within a transport operation or customer centric distribution environment.
  • The credibility and gravitas necessary not only to engage with and develop the workforce but to also build an excellent working relationship with clients.
  • Proven continuous improvement experience along with the capacity to identify areas for improved processes /productivity.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Strong commercial acumen
