RAIL TRACK MAINTENANCE MANAGER - SOUTH WALES - PERMANENT - £59,798 - £63,639

ARM are working with a leading UK railway organisation and we are currently recruiting for a Rail Track Maintenance Manager to join their team in South Wales on a permanent basis.

About You:

  • You will already have proven experience of working on UK railways within track maintenance and will have managed or supervised teams providing this essential work to keep the railway moving.
  • You will have demonstrable management capabilities and leadership and will know how to motivate and build strong team working relationships.
  • You will have a good understanding of health and safety, as well as good knowledge of trackside safety disciplines and procedures.
  • You will also have some understanding of budgets. For this position you will need to hold a UK driving licence and be able to work flexibly at times, as teams are workings days and nights, that are under your control.

What you will be doing:This position is a key role within the company and ensures that trackside maintenance and renewal teams are providing essential services to the railway in the given geographical area. As the manager, you will have team leader level direct reports and they will have a small team reporting to them. You will work with colleagues to complete reactive and essential maintenance work on tracks in South Wales. You will hold responsibility for safety of these workers from trackside working to monitoring hours worked to ensure fatigue guidance is adhered too.

This is a full-time, permanent position that is site based. You may be required to work some shifts, as teams are providing work 24/7 and you will be responsible for their output and safety. The position is based in Newport, Wales and is likely to need some travel in the area (vehicle provided for this).

We can only consider those eligible to work in the UK for this position. Due to the nature of the work, drug and alcohol testing in line with trackside working is undertaken from time to time and any new person will be required to undertake a medical and D&A testing as part of the onboarding process under Sentinel rules.
