Multi-Skilled Engineer

Location: Newport Position: Full-time, Permanent– Multiple Shifts Available    Salary: £40,000 - £50,000, based on experience

Our ClientAutograph Recruitment is delighted to be partnered with a very well-established, food manufacturing business based in the Newport area. Whilst distributing throughout the UK, and to the UK’s biggest, and most well-known retail stores, they also export globally.  Their products are manufactured using state-of-the-art equipment and technology, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and energy efficiency. We are now looking for a skilled and dedicated Multi- Skilled Engineer to join their team in Newport.

Key Responsibilities of Multi-Skilled Engineer:

  • Performing both planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance on production machinery, equipment, and facilities.
  • Diagnosing and repairing faults across electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems.
  • Ensuring the continuous operation of food production lines by minimising downtime and improving machine reliability.
  • Installing and commissioning new equipment as required.
  • Monitoring equipment performance and providing feedback for process improvements.
  • Conducting inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, particularly those relevant to the food industry.
  • Adhering to food safety and hygiene standards during all maintenance activities.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience as a Multi-Skilled or Maintenance Engineer, preferably in a food manufacturing or similar production environment.
  • Knowledge of food industry standards, including food safety regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to maintenance.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capability in the use of a range of software diagnosis tools.
  • Carry out all operations professionally and enthusiastically.
