Our client is seeking a hands-on, highly motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role involves engagement throughout the entire product lifecycle, from prototype to manufacture, focusing on the mechanical design and qualification of future products. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the design and build of a wide range of equipment and integrated components.
Day-to-day of the role:- Responsible for the complete mechanical design process, including requirements specification, feasibility studies, cost management, and scheduling.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams to resolve design requirements, implement best design practices, and achieve functional product design solutions.
- Design mechanical components using Solid Edge CAD software or similar.
- Conduct or direct CFD and FEA analyses to optimise Semiconductor Equipment airflow requirements and mechanical design.
- Reduce 3D mechanical designs to 2D drawings and apply proper mechanical tolerancing to achieve desired fit and functionality of manufactured parts.
- Work closely with suppliers to ensure parts and assemblies are built per design, and that cost and schedule requirements are met.
- Degree level qualification or equivalent experience in relevant areas.
- 3D CAD experience with Solid Edge or similar.
- Proven experience in a development and design environment.
- Experience using FEA (Finite Element Analysis) tools desirable.
