Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all machinery and equipment are maintained in a safe and reliable condition
  • Carry out periodic preventive maintenance checks
  • Perform mechanical and/or electrical work within the factory, as required
  • Assist in training other Production Technicians
  • Practise safe working practises and adhere to department rules and regulations
  • Control machine settings and ensure equipment is set to required standards
  • Minimise wastage of materials
  • Follow all relevant procedures in accordance with ISO 9001 certification

Requirements:

  • Numeracy, Literacy & PC literacy skills
  • NVQ level 2 or equivalent qualification in processing
  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Willingness to travel as required

For an Electrical Bias Technician:

  • Experience with bespoke automation/assembly equipment (HVL/HSL)
  • Proficient in servo control systems & programming
  • Knowledge of computer-aided diagnostic equipment for fault location & elimination
  • Experience with plastics machinery, electronics & control systems
  • Electrical installation & commissioning skills
  • HNC or Formal electrical apprenticeship, with city & guilds/BTEC qualification
  • Up-to-date regulatory certification

For a Mechanical Bias Technician:

  • Intimate knowledge of hydraulics & pneumatics
  • Fabrication abilities & skills
  • Familiarity with schematics, technical drawings, and data
  • Mechanical installation & commissioning skills
  • HNC or Formal mechanical apprenticeship, with city & guilds/BTEC qualification
  • Basic electrical competency
  • Up-to-date regulatory certification
