Are you an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse (Band 5) looking for a flexible and rewarding role? MedicsPro is currently recruiting skilled RMN Nurses with recent hospital experience for both full-time agency work and extra shifts at Aneurin Bevan Hospital. In particular we are looking for candidates to work LONG DAYS ONLY.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC)
  • Current upto date references- covering the previous 3 years.
  • Restraint Reduction Training & course certificate
  • Ideally a car driver

Preferable Experience:

  • At least 12 months of relevant UK experience in a hospital setting

Qualifications:

  • Mental Health Nursing BSc (Hons) degree

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: Build meaningful relationships with patients to understand their needs and preferences.
  • Treatment Administration: Administer medication and treatments while closely monitoring patient conditions to ensure adherence to prescribed care plans.
  • Symptom Management: Address specific symptoms related to mental health conditions, including behavioral challenges and personality changes.
  • Crisis Intervention: De-escalate challenging situations to maintain a safe and supportive environment for patients.
  • Record Management: Keep detailed and organized patient records to ensure seamless continuity of care.
  • Therapeutic Support: Lead group or individual therapy sessions, fostering a healing environment.
  • Physical Assistance: Provide essential physical support to patients, including room cleaning, bed changing, and help with daily tasks.
  • Family Communication: Keep patients' families informed about treatment progress, diagnoses, and recovery plans.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with doctors, nurses, and psychiatrists to implement comprehensive treatment plans.
