Are you a dedicated and experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist looking for your next opportunity?We are seeking a skilled Locum Paediatric Occupational Therapist (Band 6) to join our dynamic team in Newport. This is a full-time role with an immediate start, offering a minimum 3-month contract with the possibility of extension.

About the Role

As a Band 6 Paediatric Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, child-centered care. You will manage a diverse caseload of children aged 0-18 with a variety of conditions, including but not limited to:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

  • Cerebral Palsy (CP)

  • Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD)

You will work with children and their families from initial assessment through to discharge. Your work environment will be varied, including the Children's Centre, home visits, and school settings. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on children’s development and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out comprehensive assessments of children’s needs.

  • Develop and deliver individualized treatment plans.

  • Support children and families through the intervention process from assessment to discharge.

  • Work collaboratively with families, schools, and other health professionals.

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical records.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience as a Paediatric Occupational Therapist.

  • Hands-on experience working with children with a range of conditions (ASD, CP, DCD, etc.).
