Are you a fluent Welsh speaker looking to make a meaningful impact in education? Tradewind Recruitment is seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to support Welsh-speaking secondary schools in Newport and surrounding areas.

About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in maintaining continuity in the classroom when teachers are absent. You will supervise classes, ensuring that students remain engaged and on task with their set work. Although not teaching the lesson, Cover Supervisors are responsible for managing the classroom environment, helping with any questions about the assigned tasks, and ensuring that behaviour and productivity are in line with school policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support students in completing pre-set work in the teacher's absence.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively to create a positive learning environment.
  • Ensure students understand their tasks and answer questions where possible.
  • Follow school policies to maintain the standards and ethos of the school.
  • Provide feedback on the day's activities to teaching staff.
Requirements
