Westwood Construction are on the lookout for a Quantity Surveyor to join our client on a permanent basis in Newport. The company is entering a busy period and are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor who has worked on RC Frames/Reinforced Concrete to join their team who specialise in high rise buildings. You will play a pivotal role in managing costs, contracts, and financial aspects of construction projects within the civil engineering sector.
Role Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate cost estimates for RC frame and reinforced concrete projects
Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and control costs.
Administer contracts, including subcontractor agreements.
Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for materials and labour.
Collaborate with site teams to assess project requirements.
Estimate quantities for concrete, formwork, reinforcement, and related items.
Identify potential risks related to cost, schedule, and quality.
Mitigate risks through effective planning and communication.
Analyse project data to make informed decisions.
Maintain accurate records of project costs, variations, and progress.
Role Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally with exposure to RC frames and reinforced concrete.
5 years minimum experience as a Quantity Surveyor
Estimating experience and proficiency in using cost estimating software and tools.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and costs.

Salary: £55,000 - £75,000 per annum
