Staffroom Education Ltd are currently short-listing for a Teacher of English vacancy within a Secondary School in Newport. If you are a qualified English specialist and hold either QTS or a post-compulsory qualification, then we would love to hear from you. We would also encourage applications from any qualified teacher whose second subject is English.

Starting as soon as possible, this is an ongoing, full-time position, teaching KS3 and KS4 English within a vibrant 11-18 English medium Secondary school in Newport. They are dedicated to developing an environment which promotes happy and successful students. The person specification for this role recommends an enthusiastic and passionate subject Teacher, with the ability to develop, encourage and inspire learning at their core.

The Teacher of English role requirements include:

  • A first-class subject knowledge across Key Stages 3 & 4;
  • Excellent communication and classroom management strategies;
  • A passion for raising student expectations and achievement;
  • The ability to build strong working relationships with staff and pupils;
  • Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, confidentiality and data protection;
  • Attendance of curricular and extra-curricular events in line with school policy;
  • A current and clear, fully-enhanced DBS disclosure certificate;
  • Full registration with the Education Workforce Council.
