Vision for Education is seeking a full-time Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Newport.

As an LSA, you will play a key role in supporting the class teacher to engage pupils in their learning and ensure they get the most out of their school experience. Based in a mainstream primary setting, you’ll help children of all ages access the national curriculum and build important social skills. The school also have a number of classes that specialise in supporting pupils with a variety of learning and behavioural difficulties which is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in this area as well as experience in a well-regarded school to learn from seasoned educational professionals.

Requirements:

  • A DBS registered with the Update Service (support can be provided)
  • Registered or willing to register with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
  • Ability to provide at least 2 references
  • Willingness to complete safeguarding and CPD courses
  • A passion for education and a commitment to creating a positive learning environment
  • Full-time availability (Monday to Friday)
  • Reliable, consistent, and professional work ethic

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher with daily classroom routines and activities
  • Support small groups of pupils with reading, writing, and other learning activities
  • Provide 1:1 support to pupils with learning difficulties
  • Help develop pupils’ social and emotional skills
  • Collaborate with the class teacher to plan and deliver engaging lessons
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, sharing insights with the teacher
  • Uphold the school's policies and ensure the safety and well-being of all pupils
