Robert Half are delighted to be supporting a global business in Newport on the recruitment of a full time and permanent Purchasing Manager to join the team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced purchasing professional to join a business with growth on the horizon, and really make their mark on this role.

The position of Purchasing Manager is responsible for all commercial supplier relationship management and overseeing all purchasing activities. You will be fully site based in our client's South Wales office.

Responsibilities of the Purchasing Manager will include but not be limited to:

  • Drive the sourcing strategy for competitive cost structures and resolve any supply chain issues.
  • Supervise and line manage a team of 5 people across different departments.
  • Build long term supplier relationships and manage procurement processes.
  • Develop expertise in the business' products, suppliers and market trends.
  • Review contracts and vendor agreements for compliance and pricing.
  • Implement procurement reporting systems and oversee supplier negotiations.

Your Profile:

  • An experienced purchasing/procurement professional ideally with experience in the automotive industry.
  • A self-starter and motivated individual able to work well strategically and tactically.
  • Ideally, you will be SIPP qualified.
  • An exceptional communicator, able to manage internal and external relationships effectively.

In return, the successful candidate can expect a salary of between £60-65k plus a car allowance, 24 days holiday (plus bank holidays), private medical cover, pension, and more.
