Shipping Coordinator required

One of our clients is currently looking to recruit for the following position.

Location: Newport, Isle of Wight, PO30 (Onsite minimum 3 days per week)Salary: Circa £26,000 - £30,000 DOE (Negotiable)Contract Type: PermanentHours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week with flexible working options and early finish FridaysStart Date: ASAP

Are you an experienced Shipping Coordinator with a passion for logistics and a proactive attitude? We're looking for a dedicated individual to join our clients team in Newport, Isle of Wight. If you're seeking a role where your organisational skills, attention to detail, and expertise in shipping will make a tangible impact, we'd love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and prioritise tasks to ensure deadlines for packing and dispatch are met.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate shipping documentation in compliance with customs and HMRC regulations.
  • Process shipment requests using SAP and manual methods while adhering to established protocols.
  • Schedule and track deliveries/collections via courier systems, maintaining open communication with service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with export control licences, incoterms, and customs regulations.
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Complete Dangerous Goods Declarations (where applicable).
  • Support the Shipping Coordinator team and actively report occurrences via the QRQC system.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Proven experience in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with handling export-controlled goods.
  • Experience in arranging logistics services for finished goods.
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 standards and associated processes.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and general PC literacy.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and detail-oriented approach to work.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience using SAP.

Additional Information

Due to the nature of our clients work, candidates may need to obtain Security Clearance. This role is open to British Citizens only.
