MC Technical Recruitment is currently looking to recruit an experienced Thermal Plant Operator to support the safe and efficient operation of an Energy Recovery Facility (ERF) on the Isle of Wight. This will be during steady state, start up, shutdown and emergency situations.

As the Thermal Plant Operator, you will be responsible for:

• Operating and maintaining the Energy from Waste plant based on the Isle of Wight
• Using maintenance skills to carry out routine maintenance and address emergency defects
• Supervise the Technicians with the first line fault finding, technical advice and breakdowns
• Coordinate safety measures for work activities
• Release the plant for maintenance and conducting isolations
• Manage site emergencies, ensuring safety and adherence to local procedures are followed
• Maintain shift logs, write and review defect and fault reports
• Contribute to project work
• Produce detailed plant incident reports for health, safety, and environmental incidents
• Provide extra support during shutdowns and breakdowns
• Days & nights, 4 on 4 off

To be considered for this role you should have:

• WAMITAB Level 4 Operator Competence for Managing Thermal Treatment Facilities (desirable)
• Demonstrable successful operation of an Energy from Waste facility(s) (desirable)
• The ability to diagnose technical issues and be able to take responsibility
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Drive for continuous improvements of systems, processes and services relative to an energy recovery facility
• Relevant technical competencies
• Experience working with KPI deliverables
• Evidence of a proficient level of combustion and boiler process experience/knowledge
