Location: Newport, Shropshire
Salary: Up to £40,000 (dependent on experience and skills)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7 am 4 pm
Holiday: 30 days

Our client in Newport, Shropshire, is looking for an experienced Facilities and Building Services Technician to maintain site functionality and perform essential repairs. This role requires a broad skill set, including electrical and plumbing expertise, familiarity with plant room equipment (air compressors, refrigeration units, AHUs), and basic carpentry skills. Your versatility will support a variety of tasks, from re-hanging doors and fixing leaky taps to changing light bulbs and transporting equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct routine electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs as required around the site, including work in plant rooms.
  • Equipment Handling: Assist with deliveries and collections, moving necessary equipment and materials throughout the site.
  • Driving: A valid drivers license is required to facilitate transportation needs across the facility.
  • Technical Skills: Basic Excel proficiency and willingness to learn a new maintenance planning system (CMMS).
Ideal Candidate:
  • Demonstrated experience in electrical and plumbing work with knowledge of plant room systems
  • Basic carpentry skills with an ability to handle a variety of site maintenance tasks
  • Physically fit and capable of handling equipment transportation across the site
  • Detail-oriented and team-driven, adept at managing multiple maintenance requests
  • Comfortable adapting to CMMS software for maintenance tracking and planning
